Linda L. Fleming, J.D.
Partner
Linda has more than 19 years experience in the legal profession, both as a practicing attorney and as a marketing and business development professional. Her expertise includes working with law firm management and partners to develop resources and processes that link marketing and business development initiatives and firm strategy with measurable results. Specific areas of focus are business development skills training and coaching, client satisfaction feedback programs and client teams.
Examples of Linda’s capability and experience include:
- Providing business development skills training and coaching for over 2,500 attorneys in large and mid-sized law firms throughout the United States and Canada.
- Conducting client team training and client team business planning sessions for a number of law firms resulting in measurable client satisfaction and revenue growth. For example, a client team for a large financial institution, one of the firm’s most significant clients, expanded this multi-million dollar relationship to more than doubling revenues over a four-year period. Another team took a fledging relationship with a client in the payday loan industry from a $500,000/year client to over $1.5 million in revenue in under 18 months.
- Developing and participating in a client satisfaction feedback program for a 350-attorney firm that succeeded in conducting more than 40 strategic, face-to-face, in-depth client interviews in less than eight months resulting in increased client loyalty and opportunities to serve these clients.
- Assisting clients in preparing for high stakes business development presentations. For example, a mid-sized, midwest law firm was one of five firms remaining to be selected for three primary outside counsel positions for a Fortune 100 health care company after a lengthy RFP process. The final stage for the five finalists was an in-person presentation by a team of transactional and litigation attorneys. The midwest firm won one the the coveted primary firm roles and received accolades from the health care company decision-makers on the firm’s presentation.
Linda earned her law degree from Seattle University School of Law. She served as an Deputy Attorney General for the State of Idaho Contracts and Administration Law Division handling matters for the Idaho State Insurance Fund and also practiced as a litigator in private practice.
Before attending law school, Linda was a sales executive with an international manufacturing company and worked as a marketing and sales professional for a corporate franchisor where she earned a leadership award for developing the company’s number one operating franchise in the United States.
